Whether it’s the tiny cottages with a private backporch, or the stream that flows through the village, or the stone steps, or the pool, sauna and shala, Dragonfly Village does not disappoint. With its heritage charm and the enduring hospitality of the staff, it’s easy to see why Dragonfly has consistently been a place of refuge for yoga trainings and retreats. When the sun sets over the palm trees, and you sink deeper into the café chairs, you’ll find the peace of mind you’ve been searching for. It’s here at Dragonfly.
In these century-old antique bungalows, brought over from Java, you’ll find carefully selected rustic hand-made beds made from recycled teak. Ubud is cooler than some other spots in Bali, so a night-time fan, along with your mosquito net, will allow you to sleep comfortably. Each bungalow has an attached semi-open bathroom with passion fruit vines climbing over a natural roof, allowing for privacy while keeping you connected to your surroundings. The back porch is a welcome spot to write in your journal, look across the rice fields, and enjoy the morning sun.
The second floor of the Dragonfly Café allows you an unrestricted 360º view of the rice fields around the village. The vegetarian and vegan dining (gluten-free options available) will keep you satiated and happy during your stay. The delectable desserts will nourish your system (and sweet tooth) and leave you wanting much more!
A saltwater pool is just right for the spirit and soul after a long morning practice at Dragonfly. Slip into the warm water and let your muscles relax and unwind. Rest on the edge of the pool, soaking up the sun and listening to the call of the birds. Far away from Ubud's traffic, the pool lounge chairs allow you enough refuge to hear the wind rustling through the palm trees.
One of the most special aspects of Dragonfly is the option to get lost. Need an adventure on your day off but not interested in the Ubud markets? Head the opposite direction down the narrow path outside Dragonfly and you’ll find an oasis of calm while you meander along the rice fields. Go further and you’ll find tiny tucked away organic cafes, allowing you time to reflect on all that you’re learning and how you’re growing while you gaze out across the wonder of it all.
